Carriage Hill Assisted Living recognized its resident veterans and resident family members of veterans at the Summer Bash this past Saturday. A special thanks to Debbi Logan of Brookhaven Hospice who performed the pinning ceremony. Veterans were recognized with an American flag pin while family members of veterans were recognized with roses.
In total, 16 residents and family members were recognized on Saturday! The residents or their family members had served in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Several of our residents had lost spouses and sons in these conflicts. It was a very meaningful ceremony to recognize their losses and to let them know that their sacrifices were appreciated and not forgotten.
